Changes to MSAC entry and car park access

As many of you are aware, we have been working with MSAC management over the past several weeks, to determine the best possible options for our members under the new parking arrangements, which commenced at MSAC on 2 January.

These new arrangements have been introduced following an extensive period of consultation with government and sports partners, and in the context of broader changes to parking throughout the Albert Park sporting precinct. The new car park pricing has been approved by state government, to ensure a sustainable parking model that meets the needs of the multiple user groups of the sports facilities – including visitors, members, athletes, tenants and event spectators.

Within this approved framework, MSAC have been working hard to find a solution for high frequency users of the facility – including Diving Victoria athletes and their parents.

As a result of these discussions, we have agreed to the following:

MSAC has agreed to provide all Diving Victoria members with the opportunity to purchase an exclusive Athlete Membership, which is only available through the state sports organisations. The Athlete Membership provides all the benefits of a regular Aquatics or Performance Membership, with a 50% discount. In addition, it offers up to 7 hours free parking per day (regular memberships provide 3 hours per day).

The cost of these memberships for Diving Victoria athletes is outlined below.

Note that this offer may only be redeemed through Diving Victoria, as it is not possible to purchase Athlete memberships directly through MSAC.

Under our current agreement with MSAC, Diving Victoria is granted access to the Dive Pool and Diving Dryland during certain hours.  Every coach and diver that accesses the facility during those hours for diving activities (squad, club, holiday program, etc) must pay individual pool entry. 

DIVERS

Divers now have the following options to gain access to MSAC for training

(All prices quoted are as of 19/2/19, these may change at any time)

1) Purchase an AQUATICS membership

• Access to pool and dryland only via a wristband
• Includes up to 7-hours parking per day (License plate recognition)
• Payment is made directly to Diving Victoria
• Memberships are non-refundable
• 12, 6 and 3 month options from date of purchase
• To be eligible for the Concession/Student rate, proof of being a current student must be presented

• Available to divers, coaches and parents (parents must be a member of DV)

2) Purchase a PERFORMANCE membership

• Access to pool, DV dryland, gym, performance gym, classes, etc via a wristband
• Includes up to 7-hours parking per day (License plate recognition)
• Payment is made directly to Diving Victoria
• Memberships are non-refundable
• Please note that currently divers must be aged 16 or older to use the gym
• 12, 6 and 3 month options from date of purchase
• To be eligible for the Concession/Student rate, proof of being a current student must be presented
• Available to divers, coaches and parents (parents must be a member of DV)

3) Purchase a 10 or 20 visit DIVING PASS

• Child under 16: 10 visits $51.10, 20 visits $97.10
• 16 and over: 10 visits $76.65, 20 visits $143.15
• (prices may be raised by MSAC at any time)
• NO parking included
• Access to pool and DV dryland only
• May be purchased at MSAC reception
• Available to divers and coaches

4) Pay per entry

• Child under 16: $5.80
• 16 and over: $8.50
