Olympic Wrap-up
Published Tue 10 Aug 2021
What an amazing show the Olympics displayed. We miss the action already.
Victoria couldn’t be more proud of the diving efforts across all of the Aussie competitors. Shixin, Nikita, Cassiel & Sam – all competed in their first Olympic games against huge competition. Although perhaps not the final results they would have hoped for, we are sure to see big things from them all in the future. Melissa Wu shone bright (BRONZE) in her fourth Olympics picking up Australia’s only diving medal for the games and her first individual accolade. Esther Qin & Anabelle Smith in veteran style competed solidly in the Women’s 3 Metre event with Esther achieving a final 12th place finish.
The road to the Olympics had a great many obstacles for these divers and we applaud their perseverance, courage, and brilliance.
